Reginald Parson

Deputy Director,
Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave Program

As a first generation college student, Reginald Parson encountered a number of challenges in his path from undergraduate to obtaining his J.D. With the support of the Maine Law community, he said, he was able to overcome these hurdles and thrive. He now holds a leadership position with the Maine State Government, a role he said he never envisioned for himself but is honored to fill.

Before Maine Law

  • Oshkosh, WI
  • Marian University (BA), ’13
  • University of Wisconsin (MA), ’16

Externship

  • MAPIL Fellow for Maine Indigent Defense Center

I really feel like I’m making a difference in the policy world. It’s really cool to put your footprint on shaping a policy program from scratch.

Clinical Experience

  • Youth Justice Clinic

The way a law degree molded my brain helps me to be analytical. You’re always trying to see multiple sides of an issue. Law school helps you see past the bare bones of a situation.

First Job Post Grad
