The University of Maine School of Law has partnered with Parchment to provide secure delivery of official transcripts in both electronic and paper format. Requests made through Parchment offer the ability to track the status of the request.

Your academic transcript is the record of all activity related to your academic coursework at the University of Maine School of Law. This record includes a complete list of the courses you registered for, the grades and credits you earned, transfer credits, and any certificates and degrees that you have received.

Parchment Transcript Delivery Options

Electronic Delivery (recommended for the fastest service)

Before choosing this option, verify the recipient accepts electronic transcripts. A valid email address is required for all electronic orders.

  • $8.00 plus applicable tax per transcript for electronic delivery, which will be normally received by the recipient within 4 hours of placing the order to Parchment.
  • The electronic transcript must be sent directly to the third party in order to retain its “official” status.
  • Verify that the recipient will accept electronic transcripts before placing the order and provide the complete mailing address of the recipient as well as the correct email address.
  • Please note that the recipient’s access to the electronic transcript will expire 30 days after it’s been created.

Print Delivery through Parchment

Printed transcripts delivered to third parties will have the official University of Maine School of Law seal and the signature of the Registrar. The complete mailing address of the recipient is required for all print orders.

  • $8.00 plus applicable sales tax and shipping.
  • Orders are processed and mailed within 1-2 business days using USPS first class mail.
  • Orders sent to U.S. domestic addresses are typically delivered within 5-7 business days.
  • Orders sent to international addresses may require up to 21 days.
  • Express mail services, to domestic or international addresses, are available using FedEx.

Most transcript requests are processed immediately. A transcript will be delayed if you currently have a “hold” on your account due to unpaid Law School bills or loans. You will be notified if this is the case. Please allow an additional 3-5 business days to process “Legacy” transcripts (for degrees earned before 1988).

Under Maine law, the University must provide current and former students their official transcript or diploma upon request, regardless of a past due balance or debt owed to the institution. Students with a record hold due to a past due balance should contact the Student Accounts Office to request a temporary removal of the hold so the student can then request their official record(s) through the University Registrar’s Office or available self-service options. Those with past due balances of $2,500 or more must enter into a payment plan before the hold is temporarily removed and their record(s) can be requested. For more information about this process, please see University of Maine System Administrative Practice Letter IX-K.
